I for one loved today's first challenge! Even though the Thai Peanut brownie was a little hard to swallow, I had so much fun trying to guess what ingredients were in each of the different brownies. Even though we didn't guess as many ingredients as I thought we would, I liked the method we used to approach this problem. After smelling or tasting one or two of the ingredients, we started brainstorming what it reminded us of. Using those ideas, we were able to look up recipes that might match what we thought it could be. I actually really liked the Chai brownie! This activity reminded me of the time I tried to make a "brownie in a mug." Being in the dorms last year, I didn't have an oven or anything that I could use to bake, however I found a recipe to make a brownie in a mug uing only the microwave.
It was suppose to look something like this...
It didn't exactly turn out looking very good, but it tasted great! Being a college student with limited budget and resources, it's always nice to find creative new ways to mix up my meals!
I also found the little activity about resumes very useful and it really go me thinking about all the things I include on mine and why I choose to include them. I think my resume could use some updating soon and I'm looking forward to implementing some of the tips and strategies we got today!
I agree, the Chai brownie was surprisingly pretty good. I thought it was cool how he picked a theme or type of food that he liked and then based the additional ingredients off of that instead of just throwing random stuff together. I don't get a chance to cook often, but when I go home or when I get an apartment I'll definitely have to try that idea out!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you guys were brave enough to eat that brownie! I sure wouldn't have done it! I have seen something like this 'brownie in a mug' thing except that it was with cake. My little sister loves baking so I get to be the guinea pig most of the time!
