The activities this week further proved that I need to get better at thinking under pressure. When I approach a problem under pressure, I get into one mindset on how to solve it. If that mindset is not initially correct, then I can't solve the problem. For example, for the problem where we had to find the ages of the children, I approached it as I would any other math problem where we had unknown variables. I started to set up 3 equations with 3 unknowns as I would any other math problem. However, as we all know, the problem was a riddle and not that straight forward. I needed to expand my range of thinking and not just keep it contained in a small box.
As for the video, while I will admit I first thought it was pretty cheesy, I actually really did like it. I think the photographer had a lot of great tips for creativity that I can really take to heart.
Here are my two pictures. One is of McKay Hall, and the other is of the Marston water tower (which my group decided we would all take a picture of.
I totally see where you're coming from with the mindset thing. I also get set on doing something in one way and have a hard time doing things in a different way! It's something that we've got to work on but that's why we're in this seminar right?
ReplyDeleteI love your two pictures! I almost didn't recognize McKay hall, I've never stopped and looked at it from that angle before!
