Personal Reflection 14/04/2014: Pre-Exam Strategy

While we were discussing flow in class today, it got me thinking about how I prepare for exams. The time period that I'm talking about is the hour or two leading up to the exam. From what I've heard and seen from most people is that they take those few hours before an exam to cram and study. What I've found though is, for me anyway, that studying earlier in the week and then taking those few hours to relax and do something fun help me do better on the exams! I feel that if I continuously study right up to the exam I kind of get "burnt out". So instead of doing that I have fun! I find that this helps to keep you calm and level-headed for the exam which is always a plus! Until next week here are some other strategies for exams!

  1. I've definitely had to improve my study habits for exams. I used to wait until the night or two nights before to study. Obviously this strategy did not work once I started taking more difficult classes. Now, I am trying to improve even more by reviewing notes as I go as well as reading the assigned readings that I always blew off.
